LOGIN PROBLEMS INFO

 A - If your USERNAME is at the top, you are LOGGED IN. Click on the link L'il Beginnings Miniature Horse Forums (B) and you are in..

A - If your USERNAME is not at the top, scroll down to (C) and fill in log-in info

 

THIS IS THE EXACT REASON WHY YOU CAN'T STAY LOGGED ON - check your web-browser "Preferences" to be sure your "cookies" are set to "enable". If they are not set "on", your browser will not remember that you are logged in (which means you can only view the Forum, not post or reply to messages). Also if your security setting is too high, your browser will not allow "cookies". After enabling the cookies, re-start your computer.

Internet Explorer Instructions - Go near the top of the browser, right side, click on TOOLS, then INTERNET OPTIONS
Click on SECURITY - Set to INTERNET (a globe) - done in this part
then
Click on PRIVACY - then click ADVANCED
check on OVERRIDE COOKIE HANDLING
check ACCEPT on both 1st & 3rd PARTY cookies -
Then click OK - your done here
Close all windows down
Restart computer
This will keep you on the forum!!!

Setting AOL to accept "cookies"
these are 3 different instructions I got from AOL users
  1. On the AOL settings tab click preferences.
  2. Click Internet Properties or WWW.
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. Click Custom Level
  5. In the cookies section, select Enable. Then click OK.
  6. Click YES.
  7. Click OK to close the Internet Properties window.
  8. Click the X in the upper right corner to close the Preferences Window.

click start then go to control panel click internet connection then click internet options - you get a box click the tab that says privacy then you get a meter that shows you the settings I keep mine on low and I can always log in.

Click on Settings on the top of your screen in AOL (9.0)
Click on Internet Web Options
Click on PRIVACY
Slide bar all the way down to "Accept All Cookies"
Click OK

You do not have to log-out every time your leave the Forum. It is perfectly safe to always stay log-in.

I can't get my Profile picture to work!?!

  • Clicking on the "HELP" button on the Forum explains how to use the Forum.

1. FIX for Avatar - INVALID FILE EXTENSION - For those of you getting an "INVALID FILE EXTENSION" when you try to post your pictures... try this.
     When you copy and paste your picture address you will have the http:// at the beginning of your address. The avatar box already fills the http:// in for you. So what is happening is that you are getting... FOR EXAMPLE
http://http://hometown.aol.com/verticallim...annahavatar.jpg << Take the extra http:// off and it will work fine. 

  • Please Note: We love seeing pictures but please do not place sale horses or items on the Miniature Horse Forum.

First Thing to Do!!!  

You must have your pictures scanned and up-loaded on a web-site!  Note:  XOOM, Angelfire, Geocities and Tripod web-pages do not allow pictures on other sites, I am sure there are many others too! Please do not e-mail me where you can place pictures, because I do not know... other then using the L'il Beginnings Auction and uploading your pictures on our server for a small charge. Please see L'il Beginnings Miniature Horse & Tack Auction Info Pages should you have no place to put your pictures on the Internet..   Your photos should be in .JPG format.

1. Go to your web-page with the picture and right click on the picture with your mouse. A little box will pop-up and click on Properties.

(Netscape users - Right click over image then  on "Copy Image Location".)

SPECIAL PHOTO POINT INSTRUCTIONS - You must left click on your picture in PhotoPoint until all you have is your picture and a plain white background with no writing in your screen.

2. Another box will come up. Run your pointer over the Address (URL) line to highlight it. This is your picture address.

3. Right click on the highlighted address and another small box will appear. Click on Copy
