Pregnant Mare Wanted
We unfortunately lost a beautiful filly today due to placentitis, and as a note, if you ever see a dark brown/bloody red mucous plug expelled - please call your vet out immediately as this can cause death to your foal and cause your mare serious infection - this is no joke!
After losing the foal but saving the mare, my family has urged me to "get back on the horse" and try again. We've foaled several mares with no problems, but like always with miniatures you will have problems arise, and this unfortunately is what happened to us today. My fiance and father were caring enough to direct deposit me a small sum of cash to aid me in looking for a new mare who is pregnant to help ease the pain and get me back in the groove of things since she was my only one due for 2012.
This mare will reside at my vet's farm for prenatal and foaling care as I am a tad paranoid now, so you can rest assured all care will be given.
So, I guess here we go.....this is a general idea of what I am looking for:
Proven broodmare, with atleast one foal on the ground, who is atleast AMHA and/or AMHR registered. Preferably between 5 to 15 years old standing between 30 to 33 inches tall with a gentle disposition and is easy to catch and handle. Would prefer a pinto but will definately look at solids as well, just please no appaloosas. Must have good conformation and a pretty head/neck, good bite and straight legs. All paperwork must be in order for the registry/ies.
Must be in foal for 2012 and the sire must be current on paperwork and nicely built. Foal must be eligible for registration for AMHA and/or AMHR.
I will be picking her up so must be within SC/GA/NC possibly TN/AL/VA/FL if you are willing to meet me in a reasonable distance.
Looking to keep the price at $600 maximum but will pay in cash.
I know I'm asking for a lot, but maybe there's a sweetheart of a mare that needs a good home with plenty of love and care - and there's a home waiting for her here.
We have a small herd of 4 so plenty of daily attention is waiting for her here!
