Sale Board Hints, Tips & Rules |
Some TIPS...
-
1. - Type out your ad first in MS Word, e-mail or some other word program first - save it - then post your ad. (your password sign-in times out after so long)

2. - IMAGE URL box - If image is very large in bytes, the system will not accept it to post on main sale board page (top left below title). ALSO some images from other web sites do not allow the image on sale board (it steals bandwidth). See info below on "How to find your Image URL)

3. - Images in main body of sale board ad will show up with the word "Picture" on main page.. You have to click on "Details" so see full ad with pictures.

POSTING PICTURE ON SALE BOARD

URL box explained - If
you wish to add a picture, you will need the picture address. Your picture MUST
be on a web site - not in your computer! To find your picture address
please see Finding Your IMAGE
URL or Picture Address below. Paste the picture address in the
Image URL box. Your picture should end in ".jpg"
or ".gif" should look
something like this.. http://www.YourPictureAddress.jpg ~~~ Web Page URL box explained - This is where you add your web-site link. It should look something like this. http://www.lilbeginnings.com

You
must have your pictures scanned and up-loaded on a web-site!
Note: XOOM,
Angelfire, Geocities and Tripod web-pages do not allow pictures on other sites, I am sure
there are many others too! One site that I am told that is a great place
to store photos and works is -

Your photos should be in .JPG or .GIF format.

Go to your web-page with the picture and right click on the picture with your
mouse. A little box will pop-up and click on Properties.
(Netscape users - Right click over image then on "Copy Image Location".) |

| 2. | Another box will come up. Run your pointer over the Address (URL) line to highlight it. This is your picture address. |

| 3. | Right click on the highlighted address and another small box will appear. Click on Copy |

| 4. | After you "Copy" your location place pointer over Image URL and right click to "Paste" | |

IMPORTANT - Please Note:
I know this looks like a lot of information & rules, but the Sale Board is very popular and not very fun to host if people abuse it. To keep this board running smoothly and to be considerate to others that are placing/reading ads, please read this.
DURATION OF ADS -
Ads are up for 7 days.. Do not post more than one personal ad within 7 days. Just because you DELETE your old ad does not allow you to post the same ad again!COMBINE ADS - Combine all your horse/item ads into ONE single ad. It is not fair to bump ads to the next page because of multiple listings from one farm. Please be considerate to others that use this site. If we see people hogging the sale board with multi ads, we will delete them, do it again and you may be banned.
PERSONAL ADS ONLY
- L'il Beginnings Miniature Horses reserves the right to remove any ads that we feel are inappropriate and is to be used for personal ads only. Only horses registered in YOUR NAME can be posted. PLEASE DO NOT PLACE ADS FOR OTHER PEOPLE! All second-party ads will be removed. Strictly enforced. Also ads directing to auction listings (other then L'il Beginnings Miniature Horse & Tack On-Line Auction), other public message boards, multi-party sales lists, agent listings and commercial web-site promotions are not permitted. If you wish assistance in commercial promotions, please e-mail us. Please see Agent Listings exception below.COMMERCIAL TACK COMPANY ADS - Once per month please... Consider taking out Featured Ads or Banner Ads to advertise..
LISTING AGENTS - L'il Beginnings Miniature Horses is offering a one-year license for listing agents.. Please go to THIS PAGE FOR DETAILS.
SIZE OF PHOTOS - Ads that cause problems because pictures are too wide, will be removed.
BAD SCRIPTS - Sometimes bad script codes (by trying to post pictures and links) cause total shutdown of people's web-browsers. Should I be aware of a bad script causing a problem, I will remove the message from the sale board. We will NOT notify the owner of the bad script post, so if you notice you have a message missing, it is because of web-browser conflicts (or possibly not following our sale board rules). Please post your message again with the proper script.

OTHER PROBLEMS??? - The sale board is monitored on a daily basis and we most likely know when it goes down or has problems. If you have problems with understanding the photo instructions on this page, then perhaps it is to far advanced for you at this time. It is suggest that you have a knowledgeable friend show personally you or you may want to consider taking a basic computer coarse. Please do not e-mail me asking for assistance in posting pictures on the sale board.
